Bowe described the transition from Christian music to R&B as “difficult” but said that fans in Christian industry “like me for my music but not for who I am. It’s very hard for them to take me in person. I think with R&B, it’s the same thing.”
During the interview Bryant challenged Bowe on a number of issues, including Bowe’s nail polish.
“I’ve never painted my nails before…I just did it. Little platinum nails. I had no thoughts behind it,” said Bowe.
“Oh, you had a thought behind it,” Bryant responded. “It was a subconscious thought. You were giving the finger to the gospel industry. That’s what you just did. In case anybody thought I was coming home. You he said, ‘This is it.’”
Bowe made it clear that he’s “just an artist. I think I know how to sing a church song. I know how to write one from my heart. I also know how to write an R&B song. I know I write about love. I done been through all that stuff.”
Bryant asked Bowe which genre of music he would sing if he could only pick one. Bowe replied, “Gospel. I like the way it makes me feel.”

“Come home,” Bryant told Bowe. “Come home. You just got amplified church hurt. Come home.” Bowe responded, “I’m going to come home,”
Bryant quickly replied, “Yeah, don’t come home [only] if the other thing don’t work out.”
“I just need this. I need this space,” Bowe said.
Bryant advised Bowe to “take a break” then. “Give yourself the space so that Baal doesn’t become the stage.”
