McKinzie also specified that there “are currently no charges filed or pursued by the victim to our knowledge.” And while church leadership is not aware of any other allegations of abuse or misconduct, McKinzie encourages church members to contact church leadership directly with concerns or information.

“For more serious matters, please contact relevant authorities,” McKinzie wrote.

“Your trust is invaluable to us as we navigate this situation together,” McKinzie wrote at the close of his letter. “Please join us in prayer for healing for all those affected, for God’s wisdom and guidance, and for His peace to cover our community.”

In a statement to ChurchLeaders, Hope Fellowship said,

We are in contact with the organization that this allegedly took place at, and we are working with them to make sure all reporting is appropriately followed, as well as working with our church legal counsel to ensure that our actions protect the victim as we respond to this confession. All has been reported at this time.
