3 Things Every Girl’s Daddy Needs to Know

In Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters Meg Meeker also states, “Fathers inevitably change the course of their daughters’ lives – and can even save them. From the moment you set eyes on her wet-from-the-womb body until she leaves your home, the clock starts ticking. It’s the clock that times your hours with her, your opportunities to influence her, to shape her character.”

My “little girl” is now 17 and still loves her daddy’s affection as much now as ever. Dad, your little girl needs male affection, and she needs it from you.

3. Your Little Girl was Created to See Who God is Through Who You Are.

You are her father. God is your Father. And as you help her come to know God as her father as well, she will primarily see him for Who he is through the lens of who you are.

If you’re harsh, abusive, or seldom present in her life, she will view God as the same type of father. However, if you’re loving, affectionate, and kind, she will have a proper perspective of who her Heavenly Father is from having seen him through you, her earthly father.

The testimonies abound of women with a “father wound” from their childhood who struggle with seeing God for who the Bible says he is – a loving, compassionate, grace-filled, and righteous Father.

Whether for good or bad, you, as a father, will affect your daughters perception of who God is.

That’s why it’s so important for us as fathers to understand this principle…“Our little girls were created to see Father God through their father, you.”

If your daughter were to judge who God is by looking at who you are in her life, what would she see? Dads, what a humbling thought to consider!

Are you providing your daughter with the male leadership she needs, the male affection she craves, and the proper perspective of who God is through who you are?
