According to the results of a new Gallup poll, 40% of Americans believe that God created humans approximately 10,000 years ago in their present form. 38% believe God participated in the evolution of humans from less advanced forms of life, and 16% believe humans were created strictly by evolution with no involvement from God at all. The number of Americans who believe in strict creationism is the lowest number in Gallup’s history of asking the question, down from 47% in 1999.
