The 7 Most Influential Ways to Spend Your Money

4. International seminaries.

Arguably the greatest need in world missions right now is theological education. Health and Wealth gospels proliferate across barren plains, promising hope to the destitute and leaving thousands disillusioned with Christ.

The failure to equip the saints who were planted long ago has created a chasm of need that the American church has, as of now, the resources to fill if we’re willing.

5. Preachers.

If Martyn Lloyd Jones is correct in his assessment, preaching is the most influential medium in the world. If you want to change the world, invest in preachers. They wield the powerful word of God; yet the dearth of preaching out there falls on one side of the spectrum or the other: 1. Biblically faithful and irrelevant, or 2. Relevant and biblically unfaithful.

For all our resources, we in America are suffering from a famine in Biblical, relevant, effective preaching of the gospel.

6. Artists.

We are no longer a linear-thinking society; we think through stories, images and sounds. There is no better time for the church to reconcile its relationship with the world of art than now—we desperately need art to move the message of the gospel forward.

It is the language of our culture, and if we ignore those who speak it, we’ll lose the battle for truth.

7. The Church.

Finally, I believe that the most effective institution to spearhead all of these communities is the local church.

If you’re not sure where to give your time and money, give it to the local church. This is Christ’s chosen vessel for world transformation, and we would do well to follow His lead.
