The Joy of Generosity: 10 Reasons Christians Should Love to Give

6. Giving helps you become a better money manager of the rest.

In order to give cheerfully, you need to have your financial house in order.

For me, I started doing a budget the same month that I started tithing.

Both are key reasons I’m no longer in bondage to debt.

7. Giving trains you to obey God’s instructions more immediately.

Each time you get paid, make it a practice to give first.

Immediate obedience.

It makes taking other faith steps (even big ones) that much easier.

8. Giving provides supernatural protection over your finances.

When you give, God truly does “rebuke the devourer” (Malachi 3:11).

That doesn’t mean life will be without struggles. But it does mean you can bury worry once and for all.

9. Giving allows you to invest in something much bigger than you that will last much longer than you.

Jeremiah 29:11 says this:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

You will never see all the plans that God has in store with your generosity … at least not in this lifetime.

I’m 100 percent convinced that many of the blessings from the seeds you sow today won’t be realized until you make it to eternity.

10. Because you serve a God who truly can’t be out-given.

God has already given you the greatest gift of all—His son, Jesus Christ.

But it doesn’t just stop there.

He wants to continue to bless you.

I want to challenge you with a quote that I found from author Stephen King:

“So, I ask you to begin giving, and to continue as you began. I think you’ll find in the end that you got far more than you ever had, and did more good than you ever dreamed.”

“#Giving isn’t a chore. It’s a privilege.”

You have the opportunity each day to make an eternal difference.

The choice is up to you.
