It’s hard to say “I’m sorry”…

Ezekiel 18:30-32
“‘Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways’, declares the Sovereign LORD. ‘Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone’, declares the Sovereign LORD. ‘Repent and live!’”

The word repent simply means “to return” or “turn back.” It sounds simple, but in reality, our stubbornness and pride makes this a difficult process.

Have you ever been in the middle of conflict knowing the words “I’m sorry” would bring the feud to an end, but you couldn’t bring yourself to say those words?

Here is an amazing promise, when we turn towards God (or return to Him), not only are we forgiven, we receive a new heart and new spirit! We receive the ability to live an entirely new life!

When you find it hard to repent, what helps you make that first move? Just like in any relationship, returning happens throughout the relationship, how can we keep all of our relationships healthier?
