The Story: An Easy Way to Share the Gospel

This is evangelism-equipping week at the Summit. As I explained this weekend, according to Ephesians 4:11 it is the saints who do the primary work of the ministry, and us pastors that to do the equipping. That’s why I say, tongue only slightly in cheek, that when I became a pastor I left the ministry. I became an equipper. The place that the power of God first intersects people in our world is not usually through me in the church, but through you in the community. Yes, the role I (and other pastors) play, of preaching of the word each week, is vital, and we all should bring people who are not Christians  into our weekend services on a regular basis. There is a very special thing that happens when God’s people are gathered together and an anointed teacher is preaching the word (1 Cor 14:25). But, as one of our primary roles is ‘equipping’, all week we are going to put up tools and resources to help you get more equipped for the mission.

A great organization called SpreadTruth recently released a helpful app that helps you share the gospel with others using your smart phone. It’s free to download and very user friendly. I already wrote a post about this recently, but thought it would be a good reminder in light of this past weekend’s message. You can also get paper copies to use when talking to people if that is more your speed.

Our student pastor, Jason Gaston downloaded it and uses it all the time to share with his students. You can even go here and start a free account that will help you keep up with people you meet and share with.

Here is the link so that you can download the iphone app.
