Gift Etiquette

So, we all know one of the most difficult things to navigate during the Christmas season is the dreaded gift list.

Who do you have to buy gifts for?  If you’re lucky enough to belong to a family or work for company who draws names then you’re golden. It’s clear cut and guilt free.

But often we find ourselves wondering if we have to buy a gift for this person or that person.  Do you have to buy a gift for your boss? Do you have to buy a gift for your 2nd cousin that you only see once a year? Do you have to give gifts to the mailman, the babysitter, or your child’s teacher? And if we do have to buy a gift for them do they fall into the $10, $25 or $50 category?

What I do know is this… if someone says to you, “Don’t you dare by me a Christmas gift.”

That’s code for… “I really, really, really don’t want to buy you a gift, so please don’t put me in the awkward place of having to run out and grab you something last minute.”

So take a cue and cross them off the list.

So what are your thoughts? How do you figure out who to buy gifts for?
