God desires that our service, worship, witness, sacrifice, confession and love ALL be authentic. Yet, if we’re not careful, I think we tend to offer Him candy-coated versions … yeah, we give Him what we think He wants or what we wish we possessed or were. But this causes us to allow deceit into what is sacred and ultimately we, ourselves, begin to accept & believe the lie. We become artificial… a fraud – and yes, like a china town rolex, without close examination most are fooled (including us).
We must lay before him what is in us, not what ought to be in us. ~ C.S. Lewis
Let’s examine our hearts. Are you artificial or authentic? God knows, do you?
Don’t just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Romans 12:9
