7 Valuable Documents for Leaders

Here are the seven most valuable documents for your ministry (in my opinion).

1.  Guest follow-up letters.  Our flowchart, letters, and procedures for following up with first time guests.

2.  Six month job evaluation.  I believe every employee needs a formal job evaluation, and this detailed document provides great discussion and honest evaluation points.  It’s a Word document, so you can customize and change.

3.  Bylaws.  These are our official bylaws, and they are good.  I love the way our church is structured for accountability, flexibility, and staff-based leadership.

4.  Series planning checklist.  This is the checklist we go through every time we launch a new series.  We nearly forget something every time until we force ourselves to use the checklist.

5.  Our budget and budget categories in Excel format.  I had no idea how to create a workable budget when I started.

6.  Hiring process.  A list of 15 or so steps to hiring a new employee, plus a checklist for their first day.

7.  Volunteer job descriptions.  We’ve got a short, written job description for every volunteer in our church.
