A Majority Supports Prayer in Public Schools

A new Rasmussen survey shows that 65 percent of Americans support prayer in public schools, and only 24 percent say they are opposed to it. These results are slightly higher than last year’s results, which showed 61 percent in favor. According to The Christian Post, about the same proportion of Americans who support prayer in public schools also say they pray at least once a day (61 percent). Although the issue of prayer in public schools has been an arguing point for activists for the separation of church and state, more than three million students gather annually at schools around the country for the “See You At the Pole” prayer event, where they pray together for their families, civic leaders, and schools.
