Rock Harbor Church in Orange County in southern California says on their website that “one of the most important things we can do as a church is make a big deal about Easter.” To that end, the church will host a huge outdoor Easter gathering at the 8,500-seat Pacific Amphitheatre. Titled OC Easter, the event will draw thousands to hear keynote speaker Francis Chan teach a biblical message and, according to their website, “celebrate the freedom offered through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” The event will tell the story of Easter through teaching, music, dance, and baptisms by immersion. The event will be preceded by a gathering of local churches the evening before for worship and prayer at the venue; this event will also feature Chan and other local pastors and worship leaders.
