Francis Chan Pens Third Book

Francis Chan, best-selling author of Crazy Love and Forgotten God (both are New York Times bestsellers, per May 22 list), announces a forthcoming book entitled Erasing Hell: What God Said About Eternity and the Things We Make Up (David C Cook). Releasing July 5, 2011, Erasing Hell promises to be both controversial and confessional, directly addressing a variety of views on hell, the Bible and God.

In light of media buzz on the topic of hell this spring (including a cover story in Time magazine), Chan turned to the Bible to re-examine the issue. In his preview video for Erasing Hell, the author states what many Christians felt as the conversation about eternal destiny made national headlines recently: “We can’t afford to be wrong about this issue.”

What Chan learned about hell, during intensive study on the topic, will be of interest to his core readers as well as new readers interested in the recent media debate. Says Chan: “Some of the things I thought were so clear, they’re really not that clear in Scripture. And then there are other truths I thought were questionable. Yet the more I studied, these became crystal clear.”

Erasing Hell, written by Chan with Dr. Preston Sprinkle, unveils both scriptural perspective and fresh insight on the topic of hell and eternal destiny. More importantly, Erasing Hell is a thorough study of God’s character, which has been at the heart of this season’s debate over eternal destiny.
