New iPhone App Helps with Bible Pronunciations

July 12, 2011

A new iPhone application helps Bible readers correctly pronounce difficult words. The Bible Audio Pronunciations app features over 1,000 audio recordings of complex and unfamiliar Biblical terms, names, and places, such as “Shealtiel” and “Epaenetus.” The app allows users to browse for words and will be regularly updated with new words and pronunciations.

Michael Vance, who developed the app, says, “We wanted to give people an easy tool to raise their level of understanding and enjoyment from reading the Bible. … It is perfect for reading to your children, speaking at church, or reciting at a Bible study group.”

The app is currently for sale worldwide at the App Store for $0.99 USD; a free version is also available which contains 100 words.
