NASCAR Driver Loses Sponsor Because of Christian Beliefs

Charisma News reported last week that NASCAR driver Blake Koch has suffered the loss of his sponsor because of his Christian beliefs. Koch was partnering with the Rise Up and Register Campaign, which encourages people to register to vote in the 2012 elections, but ESPN would not air the ad because of its “political and religious overtones.” ChristianCinema.com then stepped up to sponsor Koch in his race last weekend, but Koch still needs a primary sponsor.

“I didn’t think that my faith in Christ would have an impact on whether or not a sponsor could air a commercial or not,” Koch told Fox & Friends. “The one thing I will not do is deny my faith just because a particular sponsor might not like the way I express my faith, which I do on my own time.”

ChristianCinema.com has begun a campaign to raise awareness of Koch’s dilemma. Koch said he was “excited” about partnering with ChristianCinema.com and it showed him “how much God has His hand on the situation that he would bring along (a sponsor) at just the right time.”
