Pastor Apologizes for Remarks Encouraging Parents to "Punch" Their Gay Kids

A North Carolina pastor retracted his comments to his congregation during a sermon that parents should “punch” their children who exhibit homosexual behavior. Sean Harris from Berean Baptist Church said he didn’t intend to offend the LGBT community with his remarks, but rather was attempting to “communicate the word of God regarding marriage.”

Last Sunday, Harris also encouraged parents to “crack the wrists” of their sons who appear to be homosexual, telling them to “man up.” “You were made by God to be a male and you are going to be a male,” Harris told parents to tell their sons.

Harris told the Fayetteville Observer that the comments were meant as a joke and that no one in the church took him seriously. View video of the pastor’s remarks here.
