Robertson: "The Episcopal Church Is Becoming Apostate"

As reported by The Christian Post, televangelist Pat Robertson told 700 Club audiences that The Episcopal Church would soon be declared “apostate” by the Anglican Communion, saying “the whole Episcopal Church in America has left its roots.” Even Robert H. Lundy, an officer with the American Anglican Council, told The Christian Post he agreed with Robertson. “Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori is an apostate leader as are many others in the TEC,” remarked Lundy. “[We] have pointed this fact out for many years as we work to promote biblically faithful Anglicanism in North America and worldwide.”

Robertson’s comments came as a result of an Anglican congregation in Virginia that left the Episcopal Church over “theological differences” and held its final services in their building last week. Robertson said he didn’t see “the blessing of God” on those who took over the building, but predicted the Anglican Church would experience prosperity as a result of their separation.

The Episcopal Church did not return a comment.
