Can Christians Be Faithful and Political? 7 Critical Issues

1. Maintain your spiritual life.

Maintaining the spiritual disciplines of prayer, studying your Bible, and staying in church are critical to not losing sight of the more important priorities of your life in Christ.

2. Avoid endorsing any particular candidate.

If you want to have a discussion with someone, it is always better to focus on issues and biblical values and not endorse a candidate. Our desire is to see just laws put into place and godly values being maintained at the government level. Once you take on a label of Republican or Democrat, you have lost a portion of the population as an audience.

3. Speak verifiable facts.

All too frequently, political stories, comments, or derogatory remarks get passed around about various candidates. As Christians, we are supposed to be people of truth. Pass on truth and facts about the issues and not nonsense.

4. Provide practical and worthwhile information for action.

Letting others know about voting records or similar information on the candidates can help them make an intelligent vote.
