As reported in The Christian Post, South Carolina megachurch NewSpring welcomed more than 1,200 new believers into the kingdom of God this past weekend as the result of their “Pray for 3K” campaign. Pastor Perry Noble launched the initiative with the hope that congregants would invite friends and family to church to hear a straightforward Gospel message simply titled “The Cross.” NewSpring’s seven campuses welcomed more than 24,500 people, a non-holiday record.
Noble said the original prayer was for 3,000 to come to Christ, but he wasn’t disappointed with the outcome. He told The Christian Post that “the church had always prayed big” and this was the biggest ask in their history. “Maybe if we had seen 3,000 saved we would have felt like we accomplished something and could sit back and relax,” Noble wrote in a blog post, “but as I have reflected back on this past Sunday, what we prayed for and what we saw I really do feel like the Lord is showing us THERE IS STILL WORK TO DO!!!”
NewSpring Church has seen a total of over 4,000 salvations this year so far.
