Rick Warren to Begin New Radio Show

Although he has said that he “doesn’t like televangelists,” pastor Rick Warren from Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., will begin a new radio show at the beginning of April. According to The Christian Post, the show will run for a half-hour and will be carried by the 25 largest radio markets.

Warren said he didn’t want to do a radio show in the past because he didn’t want his church turned into a studio, he didn’t want to do fundraising, and he doesn’t like TV preachers. But he said that “America is in a discouragement period,” evidenced by the way they talk to each other these days (specifically the way they address one another online).

The show will be called “Daily Hope” and will be designed to “inject some hope” into listeners. Warren also said that the show would touch on the issue of religious freedom in America.
