Henry Blackaby Undergoes Successful Quadruple Bypass

As reported by The Christian Post, author and minister Henry Blackaby, 78, is successfully recovering this week from emergency quadruple bypass surgery after a harrowing experience lost in the Atlanta area for nearly 30 hours. The author of the popular leadership book Experiencing God was reported missing last week by Blackaby Ministries, who said in a statement that Blackaby was a diabetic and had been without his medication for more than a day. In fact, Blackaby suffered a heart attack while driving in Atlanta on September 19, and police and the family were able to find him through credit card purchases.

Hundreds of volunteers in the Atlanta area, many from his church in Jonesboro, scoured the city looking for Blackaby that day. Family members have expressed their gratitude for the prayers and assistance in finding him, and they are hopeful Blackaby will “feel much better once his recovery is complete.”

“Henry has been living with blocked or 70 percent blocked arteries for several years … Please pray for his recovery and that there will be no complications,” said a new statement from Blackaby Ministries. “We believe God has some special tasks remaining for Henry to do.”
