3 Keys for Sharing Your Story

Most people have been through some big events in their lives.

Whether good or bad, these specific moments in life help form an individual’s perspective. What is beautiful about this is that each person’s journey is different, and this is what makes up a person’s own story.

The key is to share it and tell others often.

If you want to create better relationships, here are three points to help you share your story with others:

1. Be open and honest about yourself.

Take a look at yourself. Know what your faults and strengths are. Help others grow in areas that you excel in.

Share your past to help others along the way, but don’t dwell there. Share these things so they don’t make the same mistakes that you have along the way.

Plan the future, so you know where you want to go. Help people around you along the way. This is the best way to strengthen trust with others.

2. Stop the trend of judgment.

Stand for community in your church. Oneness helps strong relationships flourish.

Everyone has something they’re dealing with in their lives. Instead of passing judgment, encourage counseling and helping those in need.

Helping others requires movement and gossip is not the right movement. Be like Jesus more often … Love one another.

3. Focus on the future.

Always allow and encourage others to look ahead and past their mistakes. If we always stayed focused on our mistakes there wouldn’t be a lot of leaders. When we focus on faults, we make hurdles out of small issues that the Bible teaches we are already forgiven of.

The question is,

“Do we as Christians really believe what God says?”

That is a question we all need to think about and evaluate. It doesn’t matter what you have been through, God loves you the same.

Even if it is the biggest, worst thing that you think anyone could do, God has seen it. He isn’t surprised and He dealt with it on the cross. Remember that the next time you are dealing with guilt.

It’s time to move on and allow God to work in your life.
