Miss World 2013: "I'm Against Abortion" and "Sex Is for Marriage"

Megan Young, 23-year-old Filipino American who recently won the Miss World 2013 title, announced in a new interview as reported by LifeNews.com that she is pro-life and believes in abstinence before marriage.

“I’m against abortion,” she said. “I’m pro-life and if it means killing someone who’s already there, then I’m against that, of course. My beliefs are, no abortion. (And) Sex is for marriage, that is my belief.”

The pageant was held in Bali, Indonesia. Young was able to meet the president of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino III and she received a special award from the government of the country.

According to the International Business Times, Young faced some strong criticism on social networking by local Facebooker Devina DeDiva, who called Young a “filthy, smelly, poor maid” and made racist remarks about the Miss World winner. Young’s fans were outraged, and DeDiva was suspended from Facebook, Twitter and even her job. But Young tweeted forgiveness for DeDiva and wrote “You can never go wrong with kindness,” which compelled her fans to begin to forgive her also.
