You may have noticed that we often report on things we have learned from Protestant pastors. Perhaps you are writing a book or an article and want to know about the issues related to pastor’s families, or their view of politics, or how they do leadership training. At LifeWay Research, we regularly poll Protestant Pastors.
Here are the details:
My Questions is an omnibus survey that gives you an opportunity to ask a key question to a representative sample of Protestant pastors.
Churches are selected randomly within 3 size categories of all
Protestant churches. The church is then contacted and the senior pastor or minister is then interviewed by telephone. Churches remain in the calling queue until at least 5 attempts are made to reach the pastor to avoid bias based on availability.
One thousand completed surveys are conducted for each omnibus survey providing 95 percent confidence that the sampling error does not exceed +3.1%. Margins of error are higher in sub-groups. The large sample size also allows for responses to be compared by several demographic questions: size of church, region of the country (the 4 census regions), and age of pastor.
How it Works
Once you express interest in placing one or more questions on a survey, LifeWay Research will send you an agreement. Once we receive your signed agreement, we will work with you on the best way to word your questions, field the survey, and prepare the report. When the questionnaire is sent to the call center, your results will available about 3 weeks later.
What You Get
Your report is provided in a PowerPoint format that includes the percentage of pastors indicating each response to each of your questions. In addition, the methodology is defined, significant differences by demographic groups are highlighted, and the results are summarized.
What it Costs
The cost for each quantitative question is $1,400. Limited space is also available for qualitative or open-ended questions. Open-ended questions cost $1,600 each due to the additional interview time to obtain verbatim responses and to code the answers.
How Questions Are Used
LifeWay Research is answering strategic questions being asked by authors, individual Christians, church leaders, ministries, conventions, and denominations. These proactive, forward thinkers are seeking to make Kingdom impact by mobilizing believers, prioritizing ministry efforts, focusing leadership, identifying spiritual needs, and reaching new people.
