A Big Idea for Easter…

Okay, this is what’s known as a “trial balloon.” I float an idea here on the blog, and if enough people respond, we’ll do it.

By now, you probably know that I have a fascination with angelology…

But clearly, our culture does too…

Sadly, they’re misguided.

God created angels for a purpose. They’re mentioned all throughout the Old Testament and New Testament, and they have an active and detectable role in our lives today.

This is not some new age tilt. Some of the greatest preachers of our day have written best-selling books about them…

Angels, David Jeremiah

Not only this, but angels point people toward Jesus Christ and the Gospel. When we fail to mention them in church, we deprive people of a significant aspect of scripture and one of God’s effective tools for evangelism.

SpiritHere’s the thing… there is no better time to talk about the role of angels than Easter.

They were major players in the story of Christ’s death and resurrection, and they remind us that there is cosmic battle raging over the souls of humanity.

I’m looking for 5 churches that are interested in working together to produce an unprecedented Easter experience around the theme of angels and spiritual warfare… the spirit world.

It would cost about $12k to participate, but by working together, we could create tens of thousands of dollars worth of creative work by some of the best artists in the country:

  • The entire visual experience – films and motion work
  • Run sheets, message scripting, program elements, charted music, message outlines, etc
  • All branded church communications, bulletins, slides, etc
  • Complete branding, promtions, and web design, skins

…All from the same creators of STORY

We would meet twice in an easy-to-reach city for two creative meetings leading up to Easter – April 24, and we could do TokBox on a monthly basis to develop the program. Each church would execute its own program… at a world-class level.

Okay, there it is. Would love to hear if some churches are interested. I realize this is unorthodox, but I’m looking for churches that don’t want their communities to ever be the same.
