Announcing OneThousandPremieres.com

I believe very strongly that movies impact people more than most anything else. And I believe it’s a largely untapped frontier for the faith community.

So we’re making a film.

The non-profit organization behind STORY, that is. And we’re partnering with Dot&Cross (director Santino Stoner) which created the look and feel of the Nooma videos.

We’re making a gritty, human and progressively cinematic film about David and Goliath. It’s called Four Stones:

A young overlooked herdsman becomes an unlikely hero when his quiet ancient village comes under the attack of a ruthless band of raiders, led by an unstoppable warlord.

Gritty. Real. No flannelgraph Sunday School look. Think Saving Private Ryan for the original epic story from the Bible.

But rather than going through conventional theaters. We’re taking it straight to you… your churches, your small groups, your organizations, colleges and schools.

Via live, non-buffering, webcast on October 12-14, 2012.

The campaign to bring the film to life is called OneThousandPremieres.com.

It will be a global premiere. The Church coming together for a one-time movie premiere. We’ve been talking to leaders all over the world, from Australia and Peru to China and Scotland.

We’re offering licenses to show the film at any audience size – from living room to auditorium to the side of a building in your neighorhood. And by hosting a premiere, you are helping to fund, promote and distribute the film ALL AT ONCE.

And to help reach poor communities, we’ll offer one free showing for every mid-size and large Premiere that’s booked by January 31, 2012.

So…

Will you go to OneThousandPremieres.com

Today?

If you need to ask someone above you, we’ve provided ready-made proposals and brochures for you to download.

But we’re starting at ground zero. It will be phenomenal to watch God to bring this to life. But it starts with you.

Will you sign up to host a premiere?
Blog, tweet, and Facebook about it?

If I know you, I’ll be asking you. =)
