A student at a southern California high school, in defiance of a thrice-repeated directive from the school’s administration, openly commented on his Christian faith during a speech at the school’s graduation ceremony. Brook Hamby, Brawley Union High School’s salutatorian in Brawley, Calif., asserted himself to his graduating class, quoting the Bible and encouraging listeners to stand up for what’s right.
