“When we gather, we need to gather to make much about Christ. I don’t have a problem speaking on political issues when they’re in the text. I like to go through the books of the Bible. I think that’s the safest way to do it.”
“I don’t know if I’ve ever in a sermon said, ‘All right, this is God’s vision for America.’ Although I have said things that connect to where we are as Americans. And there have been times where we’ve had special times of prayer over certain tragedies and things like that. I think that’s appropriate. And we do our best to pray for leadership, both at our local level and also statewide and national.”
