Christine Caine Offers Warnings and Encouragement to Church Leaders Who Are ‘Stuck’

“We as leaders got stuck in perhaps disappointment, discouragement, unforgiveness, bitterness. I mean, there has been just so much divisiveness and so much pain. And we ourselves, as we’ve tried to lead others through it or navigate others through it, have gotten stuck.”

“We had hoped that by 2023 we would be in a different place. We had hoped people would be back. We had hoped giving would be back. We had hoped, you know, insert whatever it is. And the fact is it hasn’t and it won’t. So is our ultimate hope in Christ?”

“We may be disappointed. Our situations may have changed, our churches may look different. But the promise of God, the purpose of God, the call of God, none of that has changed.”

“We as leaders, our people are going to get stuck if we get stuck.”

“You can’t be in ministry like I have for 35 years and not have made mistakes and failed along the way. Man, you can get stuck in that and allow a mistake to define you and to take you out.”

“Being unstuck is not a personality thing…it’s not an Enneagram number…it is a decision to remain faithful to the call of God.”

“You’re never too old to keep learning and you’re never too young to learn.”

“I don’t think I’m actually yet doing the thing that God’s put me on the earth to do.”

“Don’t get too locked into what you’re good at because the thing that I’m probably most known for, I didn’t even know existed in my 30s and early 40s.”

“I do believe things happen in decades. Ok? There’s a lot of data that shows that. But I just never want to be limited by it.”

“Do we want to be known for what we’re good at, or do we want to be known for having faithfully followed the Lord to the end?”

“I was not necessarily called to a particular task or a particular place. I was called to follow Jesus, and he’s given me gifts and talents that have expressed themselves in different ways at different times for his purposes.”

“The fact is, everyone around you knows that you’re stuck.”
