Christine Caine Offers Warnings and Encouragement to Church Leaders Who Are ‘Stuck’

“I think sometimes we mistake our preferences for God’s will and that’s what gets us stuck.”

“Often we get stuck because we don’t know how to mourn or we don’t know how to lament, and so I’m not dismissing the pain involved in change. And especially in these last few years, there’s been so much pain and so much heartache.”

“I think even as followers of Jesus and as leaders, we of all people ought to be more committed to changing, to growing, to learning, and I think that’s part of the abundant life that Jesus talks about.”

“How long are you going to mourn? How long? God’s finished with what was done. It’s done that way, and you’re not being disloyal to the past by moving into the future. It’s just a new day.”

“If we get stuck, we’re going to miss the new thing that God’s doing on the earth right now.”

“I just don’t ascribe to the philosophy that leadership has to be lonely and you have to do it alone.”

“So the Lord’s work—he’s going to build his church, the gates of hell will not prevail against that. We just get a choice. Do we still want to be part of this?”
