Sorting out our biblical values will lead us to principles and conducts that glorify God and His ways, which ultimately make the Gospel irresistible to some and repulsive to others. As we are consistent in our faith and practices He will reap the harvest and gain the reward of His suffering!
Values – related to the great truths of the Gospel, values are extracted from the Word of God
- The Bible is our authority
- Prayer is our means
- Dependency on God is our posture
- Restoring relationship between man and God is our passion
- Love is our motive
- Service to God and others is our expression
- His promise to return is our urgency; to hear Him say, “Well done good and faithful servant” is our goal
Principles – essential rules for conduct that are consistent with truth
- All the believers devoted themselves
- to the apostles’ teaching,
- and to fellowship,
- and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper),
- and to prayer. Acts 2:42
- They worshiped together at the Temple each day,
- met in homes for the Lord’s Supper,
- and shared their meals with great joy and generosity – praising God
- and having favor with all the people.
- And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47
- Devoted to (to occupy oneself diligently with something, to pay persistent attention to something)
- Following Apostles’ teaching
- Fostering unity
- Sharing meals
- Practicing prayer
- Corporate Worship
- Celebrating communion
- Living in community
- Sharing generously
- Resulting in:
- Salvations
- Favor with all the people
