Last week in my post, I mentioned that Monterey has many folks that come through town for military training. They come from a variety of church backgrounds and have had different small group experiences. Consequently, they have different ideas about how a small group will function, where it should meet, and what is his or her role.
To help a cell leader communicate to new members about cell group life, we encourage the use of a Cell Covenant. In the covenant, we commit to pray for one another daily, respect confidentiality, and to reach out to the lost. We also clarify logistics: where we will meet, what time our meetings will begin / end, and the fact that each of us will play an important role in the group.
You who are reading this blog know how critical it is to enlist the help of members with different parts of the meeting. And each role is important. Bringing refreshments can be just as significant as leading the worship or guiding the cell lesson. The commitment of each cell member gives everyone an opportunity to take ownership in the group, regardless of their level of maturity. Total participation of each member helps the host by not placing all of the responsibility on his or her plate.
When a leader sets expectations for group members, they come ready to engage and are more sensitive to the needs of others in the group, including the host.

Estableciendo expectativas

La semana pasada en mi blog, mencione que Monterrey tiene muchas personas que vienen por la ciudad para el entrenamiento militar. Ellos vienen de una variedad de orígenes y la Iglesia ha tenido diferentes experiencias en grupos pequeños. En consecuencia, tienen ideas diferentes acerca de cómo un pequeño grupo funciona, donde se debe cumplir y cuál es su papel.
Para ayudar a un líder de la célula que se comunique a los nuevos miembros sobre la vida del grupo celular, le recomendamos el uso de un Pacto celular. En el pacto, nos comprometemos a orar los unos por los otros a diario, respetamos la confidencialidad, y alcanzamos a los perdidos. También aclarar la logística: ¿Dónde nos encontraremos?, ¿A qué hora nuestras reuniones empezaran/terminaran?, y el hecho de que cada uno de nosotros va a jugar un papel importante en el grupo.
Tú que estás leyendo este blog, sabes lo importante que es contar con la ayuda de los miembros de las diferentes partes de la reunión. Y cada papel es importante. Traer refrigerios puede ser tan significativo como el líder de la adoración o el que nos guía en la lección celular. El compromiso de cada miembro en la célula, les da a todos la oportunidad de tomar parte en el grupo, independientemente de su nivel de madurez. La participación total de cada miembro ayuda al anfitrión, para que la responsabilidad no este sobre su plato.
Cuando un líder establece las expectativas de los miembros del grupo, ellos vienen dispuestos a participar y son más sensibles a las necesidades de otros miembros del grupo, incluido el anfitrión.
