Five Characteristics of GREAT Teams

There are a lot of good ministry teams. But there aren’t enough GREAT teams. Few leaders know how to evaluate whether or not the team is a great ministry team. Setting goals, accomplishing tasks, and working hard means you have a good team. But a great team will experience the five characteristics noted below…

1. Synergy – A great team, when brainstorming, strategizing, and dreaming new dreams will generate ideas and future expectations together that no one team member could have produced on their own.

2. Unity – Great teams never allow conflict to linger. They are committed to dealing with internal tension immediately and protect oneness at all costs.

3. Ingenuity – Great teams welcome creativity and are inspired by new ways of thinking, new ways to accomplish work, and those team members who take the group places she has never gone before.

4. Family – Great teams are more family than co-workers. They are available to one another 24/7, will never bail on one another, and share laughter and tears unapologetically and without embarrassment because of their passion for and comfort with one another.

5. Individuality – Great teams recognize that each team member brings his/her own special gifts and abilities, personality, and passions to the team. Each team member embraces their individual identity and encourages other team members to find, hold close to, and exercise their own.
