I couldn’t help but blog about this photo. When you think of the poverty, hunger and devastation in the world – seeing a dog treated as royalty seems a little upside down.
I mean – where did this guy come from? Most likely some pound somewhere. The Target people walked up and said, “Hey there little guy, want to be in some commercials?”
He replied, “Woof?!”
And the rest is history. Target Dog gets some red paint on the face and becomes the globe-trotting mutt mogul he is today.
Sad, but at the same time pretty cool. Let me explain:
How cool is it that the Target dog was “rescued” from the boring life it was living and made “special” when he (or she) did absolutely nothing to deserve it.
A perfect illustration of our situation in life. We’re just walking along living the life we live, but then we’re interrupted and given the opportunity of a lifetime. We’re asked to star in the greatest commercial of all time.
Not only are we saved out of mediocrity and lack of purpose, but we are also helping others find the same free gift.
We can all be the Target Dog!
