Youth Ministers: Watch Out for These 6 Attacks From the Devil

5. I’d get youth leaders to do lots of good things with their youth groups.

I would get them to build houses for the needy, give food to the poor and reach out to the hurting. I’d encourage them to do all these things in the name of Jesus but without ever sharing the message of the Gospel.

Then I’d convince youth ministers that preaching the gospel was action and service alone. I’d tell them we must merely live the message of Jesus, not share it with our lips.

6. I’d seek to discourage the single youth ministers and distract the married ones.

Finally, I’d wake them with envy and tuck them in bed at night with discontentment. I’d seek to turn every sin into an addiction and every good thing into an idol. I’d turn every frustration into a bitterness, every problem into a worry and every interaction with that co-worker (or student) into a temptation.

If I were the devil, that’s what I’d do to destroy youth ministers. But I’m not the devil. Satan is. And he is very good at being very bad.

If you were the devil, how would you attack youth ministers?
