The Kindness Challenge

Last Sunday I proposed to our students a kindness challenge for 30 days.

Kindness sounds like a weak word in our world today. When you look at scripture and the life of Jesus…you see that kindness is not weak. Kindness is not nice or polite. It’s revolutionary. It speaks and acts in a way that can change the life and eternity of those around us in our churches, schools, neighborhoods and worlds.

The kindness challenge is:

I will use my words only to build others up.

I will serve others when it’s not convenient for me.

I will try new ways of showing kindness for the next 30 days.

Simple and easy. They tied a string around their wrist to remind them of their commitment to kindness.

I am wondering if you might challenge the students in your life to the same commitment? And what it might look like if a bunch of teenagers decided to change the world with kindness! Are you in?
