Hillary Clinton Quotes Galatians 6 in Concession Speech

Hillary Clinton delivered her concession speech this morning in front of a vocal group of supporters. Clinton expressed her gratitude for her supporters, yet admonished everyone: “Donald Trump is going to be our President. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead.”

Clinton spoke of one of the hallmarks of the American democracy: The peaceful transfer of power that is to take place from one President to the next. She is encouraging everyone that this election season will be no different, and says she hopes Trump “will be a successful President for all Americans.”

Clinton told her supporters, “We have seen that our nation is more deeply divided than we thought. But I still believe in America, and I always will. And if you do, then we must accept this result and look to the future.”

Clinton also encouraged her supporters to keep working toward the goals her campaign emphasized. Quoting Galatians 6:9, Clinton said, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
