Oklahoma Pastor Running For Senate, Vows to Investigate 2020 Election

“This nation was built upon the faith that you and I hold to,” Lahmeyer said, going on to discuss the separation of Church and State. “[Thomas Jefferson] wasn’t talking about the Church staying out of the affairs of the State. He was talking about the State staying out of the affairs of the Church.” Lahmeyer then encouraged his congregants to “get involved” in the “political realm.”

“America is in the position it is in today because of the pulpit. We need strong preachers who will stand up and proclaim the truth, regardless of what the media might say, regardless if a tither might leave. We’ve got to have men and women who proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ,” Lahmeyer said, echoing the words of State Senator Rogers. “Wendy said it the best: ‘We are the plan.’ ”

Lahmeyer concluded his sermon with an impassioned declaration: “There’s a king in America. A lot of people don’t believe there’s a king. There is a king. And his name is Jesus…It’s time to shout it from the rooftops that Jesus is king. It’s time to shout it behind the pulpits that Jesus is King in America.” Lahmeyer then shifted his language to include political spheres of influence, saying, “It’s time to shout it in the halls of Congress that Jesus is king in America. It’s time to shout it on the airwaves of MSNBC and ABC and CNN and Fox News that Jesus is king in America.”

At the end of his sermon, Lahmeyer invited Senator Rogers back onstage to pray over her, mentioning his own candidacy for office.

ChurchLeaders reached out to Lahmeyer for comment but has not received a reply.
