Her brother adds, “She had three children in the car with her that witnessed this, and I know they need some closure. I know they need some help.” To the person responsible for killing Newman-Townsend, he says, “If you have any kind of compassion in your heart, if you have any kind of mercy, any sympathy, any humanity, please help us and just turn yourself in.”
Investigators have returned to the intersection to seek more evidence. They’re also requesting camera footage from nearby businesses.
On Facebook, people have been posting tributes to Newman-Townsend. One writes: “When I think of you all I can think about is love.” Another person comments: “This is so shocking to me. … You’ll be missed dearly. … To know you, is to love you. Your infectious spirit could bring anyone out of their bad mood. To have people like you is what life is all about, LOVE. Rest in heaven.”
