The Athletic’s Mark Lazerus praises the Sharks for not canceling its LBGTQ event and for not letting “Pride outliers steal the show.” He writes: “There are going to be players who choose to cherry-pick and interpret their religion in a way that gives them cover for their bigotry. Let them sit out. Let them tell on themselves. Let them show the world who they are and what they stand for.”
Sports commentator Keith Olbermann, meanwhile, is calling on the Sharks to fire Reimer, whom he describes as “holier-than-thou” and “hypocritical.”
