Joel Osteen to Star in Reality TV Show

Megapastor and author Joel Osteen will soon team up with Survivor producer Mark Burnett to create a reality TV show based on his Lakewood Church’s mission trips. In an interview with The Christian Post, a spokesperson for the Osteens Donald Iloff said viewers can expect to see “people being a blessing to other people,” although the details of the show have not been confirmed. Iloff also said the increased exposure from the show will help the Houston church spread its message. “My hope would be that they would truly see the heart of this ministry. It’s not just Joel and Victoria and this church, it was Joel’s father and mother before them. This is a legacy of really caring about people.” To date, no networks are yet considering the show, and there is no word about a launch date.

Lakewood Church’s website says Osteen preaches to 38,000 every week and broadcasts his messages to millions of Americans and around the world. He just completed a book tour for his newest book, Every Day a Friday.
