Why Your Church Staff Needs More Women

2. Get creative.

It’s time to get creative about how it could work in your church.

What systems could you create? How could you adapt the position to fit a person’s skill set?

One of the ways we were able to secure very competent and qualified female staff members at The Oaks is through “Flexible Work Arrangements” (FWA). FWA’s have allowed me to hire away women from successful careers in other fields. Let’s face it; the church needs something other than money to woo them away, and we have found FWA is a very attractive option.

3. Get connected.

Find the greatest women pastors out there and tap into their network. I love what Leading and Loving It is doing to connect women ministers. Also, keep your ears open to what successful women are doing in the corporate/education world in your congregation.

4. Get crazy.

Start hiring qualified females on your staff and watch your options for new staff increase enormously.

What are some other practical ways churches can hire more women on their church staff?
