The Story of David: ‘God-Sized Vision and a Slingshot Strategy’
Through an engaging and animated film, “David” seeks to tell the story of David—a biblical character whose story begins in 1 Samuel 17 and runs through the entire book of 2 Samuel.
The family-friendly movie is expected to thrill audiences with the wit and wisdom of one of the “most inspiring characters in human history. From completing chores on his family’s farm to slaying the giant, Goliath, David’s childhood was far from ordinary.”
“David was a warrior, and his extraordinary courage has been an inspiration for thousands of years,” said the film’s Facebook page. “He didn’t hesitate to defend his home and people, even when victory seemed impossible. He dared to face his giants!”
The movie is hoped to draw audiences from outside the church as well. The quality and expertise going into the production of the film are on par with DreamWorks, Disney, or Pixar.
“His greatest achievement was not defeating a giant, but inspiring a nation to BELIEVE!” shares the movie’s website. “Warrior, poet, shepherd, and king, David’s life is one of incredible color and energy.”
Tim Tebow Serves as an Executive Producer for ‘The David Movie’
Tim Tebow—an outspoken Christian, former NFL quarterback, and philanthropist—recently posted an endorsement video of the upcoming movie.
“This movie could be…a generation-changer for so many people,” Tebow shared. “They need more partners like us. I’ve personally invested in this, and I’m so excited to be an executive producer. And we need more partners.”
Tebow invited viewers to give financially, pray for the production and reach of the film, and to share awareness of the movie itself.
“I am so fortunate to get to be a part of such an exciting project in the ‘David’ movie! I believe it’s going to encourage and inspire a lot of people and I can’t wait to see what it does,” Tebow said.
Tebow reflects, “We’re just believing and praying that God’s going to do something awesome with this.”
