Earlier this year while Bowe was being interviewed on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards, he told reporters the performance he was looking forward to the most was that of Lil Nas X—a controversial, gay, LGBTQ-affirming rapper who collaborated on the “Satan Shoes.”

One Dante Bowe fan seemed perplexed as to why Maverick City Music paused its relationship with Bowe after the group (including Bowe) just finished touring with Kirk Franklin, who explicitly cussed out his son, a conversation that was leaked to the public a year ago last March. Franklin apologized to his fans and followers saying that the words that he used during the leaked phone call were not appropriate and apologized saying he was “sincerely sorry.”

“Maverick City just finished a whole tour with a gospel artist who cussed his son out and called him every name in the book and y’all showed him grace. (No shade),” the fan wrote. “Where’s that same grace for Dante Bowe?”

Bowe has a 14-city tour scheduled with Social Club Misfits and Evvie McKinney starting at the end of October that is still currently scheduled to take place according to his website.

ChurchLeaders has reached out to Bowe and will update this article in the event he or his team responds.
