“We need a national divorce. We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government,” Greene wrote. “Everyone I talk to says this. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”
Greene went on to double down on the remark, tweeting, “Impeach Biden or give us a national divorce.”
Notably, Greene is not the only Republican advocating for a splitting of the nation. On Monday (March 6), former pastor and current congressman for Texas Bryan Slaton announced a referendum bill he titled “TEXIT,” which will seek to begin a process by which Texans could vote to peacefully secede from the United States.
In their petition, Faithful America calls on Stanley to “denounce” Greene’s “divisive proposal.”

“Pastor Stanley has a long history of preaching about the importance of Christian unity — especially when it feels hard,” the petition reads. “He even authored a book about the intersection of politics and Christianity in 2022 entitled ‘Not in It to Win It: Why Choosing Sides Sidelines The Church.’”
The petition continues, “As Pastor Stanley’s siblings in Christ, let’s ask him to use his public platform to denounce [Greene’s] toxic rhetoric and actions now.”

Even while it was launched just over a week ago, the petition is within striking distance of its initial goal to reach 15,000 signatures.
