Christian Headlines shared that Tomlin’s family is preparing meals for those who have been affected by the shooting, as well as helping in other ways that offer their “presence and friendship” in a situation were words aren’t really enough.
The worship singer applauded the work of Metro Nashville Police Department for their quick response in subduing the shooter.
The situation is “heartbreaking,” Tomlin said, sharing how he helped process the event with his daughters. “It was a time for me to be the dad and step in and just say, ‘Here’s the seriousness of what’s going on today. You know, some of your friends that go to that school, they had some friends that are hurt. And there’s some bad people in this world. And I want you to know that I’m here, I’m protecting you. I’m gonna do everything I can to always make sure you’re safe.’”
