9/11 Event Encourages Prayer for our Nation

As reported by The Christian Post, a church in South Carolina has scheduled a prayer event for September 11 in memorial of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Rev. Lawrence Cook of Living Vine Worship Center in Orangeburg, said the event was designed to bring people together in prayer like they did immediately after the terrorist attacks happened. “At the time…everybody was coming together. And now they’re separated again, so we need to come together more often and…pray for one another all the time,” he said. “People are still upset about it, but the only thing that will give us relief is prayer.”

The main event will take place in Orangeburg, but the initiative will also involve several other U.S. cities, including ministries from different denominations and from Africa and India. Event coordinator Wally Ziolo said the agenda of the event would include reading of prayers written by former presidents. The number of expected participants is unclear.
