Church Under Scrutiny After Crowd Size ‘spiraled out of control’ at Event With Sean Feucht

“We don’t want to do anything that’s not safe. We don’t want to do anything that puts people at risk,” Dickson assured those watching. He outlined they were capping the attendance, collecting every attendee’s contact information, encouraging online viewing, would be offering masks to everyone who entered (although not making them mandatory), hiring a cleaning team to disinfect after each session, asking out-of-state attendees to get tested. The pastor also mentioned “air circulation things” would be installed.

Sean Feucht and Kim Walker-Smith Traveled to Maine

Somewhere along the way, though, Dickson decided to hold a couple worship events with Feucht and Walker-Smith, who made the journey to Maine despite the original conference being canceled.

A post on Feucht’s Instagram account posted over the weekend shows the pair of worship leaders holding a lobster.

No other social media posts (from Feucht, Walker-Smith, or the church) give any indication the worship events took place. The church made a point of trying to limit attendance by not posting about the events. Usually Feucht posts about the events he has been doing around the country, but did not post about this event specifically.

As they indicated in their statement posted to Facebook, the church hopes the community can trust them to “pivot from this weekend and make powerful decisions to continue to have church safely.” They also asked for prayer from fellow believers.
