‘Nothing That God Can’t Do’: Deion Sanders Thanks God for Opportunity To Coach at University of Colorado

“And I never would have thought at this time last year when I was laying up in the hospital dealing with these blood clots, getting two toes amputated and the sides of my legs cut out, that I would be in Colorado, in this beautiful weather…this beautiful place, this beautiful city, which is virtually crime-free, with over 36,000 students and a fanbase that just won’t stop,” Sanders said, referencing a life threatening medical emergency he endured in 2021. 

Sanders reiterated, “Don’t you ever tell me nothing that God can’t do, because this is flat out incredible. God, this is incredible.”

“Thank you, each and every one of you,” Sanders said to conclude his address. “This is a dream. This is a blessing, and we’ve only just begun. God bless.”

Sanders has been vocal about his faith in the past, sharing in his 1997 autobiography that his faith became “everything” to him following a failed suicide attempt. This recommitment to his faith led to a “tremendous turnaround.”
